BIOGRAPHY
Walter Sabatelli was born in Cecina in 1925. He started painting at a very young age, receiving appreciation and awards. He went through the artistic movements of the 20th century, he was influenced by the Impressionists and Macchiaioli painting, always beeing indipendent on the path of research.
He left us on August 19, 1997

ARCHIVIO WALTER SABATELLI
It is a non-profit institution founded after the Master's death. It is based on a notarial deed, recognised and deposited with the authorities.
The founding aims of the Archive are to protect the name, signature and history of Walter Sabatelli against the aggression of counterfeiters and all those who intend to make use of the work of the Master without having the right to do so also on his research and his history. It has power to take legal action in the event of counterfeiting and to protect the name and the work. The Archive is the only institution authorized by law that can endorse the authenticity of Walter Sabatelli's name and work to protect the name itself.
Ogni casa d’aste seria e di livello internazionale quando manda all’asta un’opera richiede sempre un expertise dell’Archivio di riferimento, ove non vi fosse la certificazione l’opera viene in genere rifiutata.
The President as well as Archivist is Roberto Sabatelli, son of the painter as well as ex-director/founder of the Amedeo Modigliani Art Gallery, the only public museum structure named after the great Livorno painter recognized by law.
The Vice President is Chiara Sabatelli, adored niece, with extensive hereditary and executive mandates.
Oggi l’Archivio è saldamente in mano alla famiglia durante l’ultima stima si contavano duemilaquattrocento opere tra disegni, acquerelli, olii e tecniche miste, oltre ad un pool di opere di altri artisti di grande fama su cui l’Archivio sta eseguendo approfondimenti e studi. Queste opere non sono cedibili e non potranno essere cedute né vendute, solo esposte in occasioni particolari. Sono anche presenti opere di: Picasso, Matisse, Kokoschka, Luigi Sabatelli, Guttuso, Charles of Edinburgh, Modigliani, De Chirico, Giacometti.
